The Alcide De Gasperi Foudation, established in 1982, is a cultural institution based on Christian values that operates at the national an international levels to strengthen democracy, spread freedom and study issues of international politics.

In 1985 the Foundation became a legal entity and from that moment it started operating its initial programmes through initiatives promoted on its own or with other international Foundations and Institutions. 

From 2002 the Foundation is included in the “Albo degli Istituti Culturali” of Regione Lazio (L.R. 42/97).

The choice of naming the Foundation after the great European statesman Alcide De Gasperi was instrumental to its mission. Indeed, the Foundation operates in compliance with the ideals and the moral and political teachings of Alcide De Gasperi, father of the democratic reconstruction of Italy, advocate of European unity and of peace in security among nations.

These themes are high on the list of priorities of the Foundation, which has always followed their evolution and has been a precursor of future developments through ad hoc initiatives.
